Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival & Tórshavn City

Your adventure begins as you touch down on Vágar Island, where a friendly driver will greet you and take you on a comfortable transfer to Tórshavn, the charming capital of the Faroe Islands. Enjoy the scenic drive through a magical winter landscape with snow-dusted peaks and rugged coastlines. Upon arrival, settle into your cozy accommodations and take the rest of the day to explore Tórshavn at your leisure. We recommend wandering through the quaint streets, visiting the vibrant harbor, or indulging in the local cuisine at one of the city’s renowned restaurants.

  • Horseback Riding in Tórshavn: Explore the beautiful nature around Tórshavn on the back of a horse. The small horses used on the tour are friendly and intelligent, making a riding tour the perfect activity for the whole family. All necessary riding gear is provided. Minimum age 7.
  • Heimablídni: Heimablídni, meaning “home hospitality” in Faroese, invites you into local homes across the Faroe Islands for an intimate and authentic dining experience. This experience may also be available on other days, depending on host availability.

Day 2 – Saksun Village & Gjógv Gorge

Today, a guide will pick you up and take you around Streymoy and Eysturoy Islands. You’ll begin by heading to Saksun, an idyllic village nestled under majestic mountains and above a serene lagoon. Here, you’ll see countless waterfalls and a quaint little church with a grass-roof. From there, you’ll visit the stunning Fossá Waterfall before making your way to Gjóvg Village, where you can explore its famous gorge. On your return to Tórshavn, enjoy a stop to admire the dramatic Risin & Kellingin Sea Stacks, standing tall against the North Atlantic Ocean, capping off a day of natural beauty and cultural discovery.

Day 3 – Hiking Adventures on Vágar Island

Today, a guide will pick you up and take you to Vágar Island for an unforgettable day of hiking. You’ll begin with a scenic hike along the beautiful Lake Leigisvatn, where you’ll walk up Trælapínan Cliffs, also known as Slave Cliffs, and to Bøsdalafossur Waterfall. Take a moment to sit and soak in this magical view. Breathe in the fresh air as you stand before Bøsdalafossur, where the water crashes dramatically into the Atlantic, with the Geituskorardrangur sea stack enhancing the beauty of the scene. After hiking back along the lake, visit the charming village of Bøur for a great view of Tindhólmur Island. Finally, before returning to Tórshavn, you’ll stop at the breathtaking Múlafossur Waterfall in Gásadalur Valley, a truly iconic Faroese landmark.

Day 4: Exploring the Northern Isles

Today, embark on a journey through the enchanting northern isles of the Faroe Islands, visiting five islands in one adventurous day. Your route will include stops at several breathtaking waterfalls before descending into the sub-sea tunnel leading to Klaksvík, the second-largest town in the Faroe Islands, renowned for its vibrant fishing culture and bustling harbor. Continue to Kunoy Island, known for its dramatic rocky topography and the charming village of Kunoy, nestled at the foot of sheer basalt cliffs. Here, you’ll find a picturesque church with a striking red roof. Finally, visit Viðareiði, the northernmost village in the Faroe Islands, where the open landscape and refreshing winds provide a perfect backdrop for photography and contemplation.

Day 5 – Departure

Now it’s time to bid farewell to these remote islands in the North Atlantic Ocean. If you have a late flight, you can spend some time exploring Tórhavn before a driver takes you on a scenic drive to the airport on Vágar Island.
