Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to the Faroe Islands

When you land, a friendly driver will be waiting for you at Vágar Airport to take you to Tórshavn, the capital city of the Faroe Islands. Once there, settle into your hotel room and explore this charming city. Tórshavn is the perfect blend of old and new, with an array of fascinating historical sites and modern attractions.

  • Horseback Riding in Tórshavn: Explore the beautiful nature around Tórshavn on the back of a horse. The small horses used on the tour are friendly and intelligent, making a riding tour the perfect activity for the whole family. All necessary riding gear is provided. Minimum age 7.
  • 2-Hour Boat Tour from Tórshavn: Discover distant islands, inviting bays, and charming seaside villages from the sea. Coffee/tea and the use of a flotation suit are included. The minimum age is 6.
  • Heimablídni: Heimablídni, meaning “home hospitality” in Faroese, invites you into local homes across the Faroe Islands for an intimate and authentic dining experience. This experience may also be available on other days, depending on host availability.

Day 2 – Vágar Island

In the morning, a guide will pick you up and take you to Vágar Island, where you’ll begin your photography adventure. Remember your hiking boots as you’ll hike to Trælapínan Cliffs, also known as ‘Slave Cliffs.’ You’ll also explore the idyllic villages, picturesque rock formations, and an iconic waterfall.  At the end of the day, you’ll return to your accommodation in Tórshavn.

Day 3 – Eysturoy Island

Today, your guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to Eysturoy, the second-largest island on the Faroe Archipelago. Here, among tall mountains and ancient Viking settlements, you’ll explore impressive gorges, silvery waterfalls, and dramatic shorelines, with countless picture-perfect moments along the way.

Day 4: Exploring the Northern Isles

Today’s itinerary is packed with dynamic landscapes and, most likely, fast-changing weather, perfect for experimenting with your shutter speed settings. Your guide will pick you up in the morning and take you to the Northern Isles, where you’ll climb mountains to get epic shots of the coastline, nearby islands, and beautiful fishing villages. You’ll return to Tórshavn in the evening.

Day 5 – Streymoy Island

On your penultimate day in the Faroe Islands, your friendly guide will pick you up early in the morning for your tour of Streymoy Island. As you hike to hidden gems and secret spots, be prepared for frame-worthy views that will leave you in awe. You’ll see a two-tiered waterfall, jet-black beaches, and, if weather permits, impressive bird cliffs. At the end of the day, you’ll bid farewell to your guide as he drops you off at your hotel in Tórshavn.

Day 6 – Tórshavn & Departure

Today, you’ll explore Tórshavn without a photography guide. You can take what you learned in the last few days and apply it to the many attractions of Tórshavn City. Alternatively, you can take a tour from Tórshavn to discover new corners of this charming capital city. When it’s time to leave, a driver will take you to the airport on Vágar Island.
